Finally, a decent implementation of panels using MooTools, which means I can finish my migration from YUI+Scriptaculous to MooTools some time this year if time allows.

Couldn’t help but share the wonderful resource that is colorschemes.org, chances are if you have a question about color there’s an answer in there somewhere.

Chalk it up!

Dave Shea has just released his first set of stock icons called Chalkwork, and let’s just say I’m looking forward to seeing more along the same lines. Clean, generic and very recognizable. Grab it while it’s hot.

Commonly user browser sizes

November 1, 2006 Leave a comment

At some point during your web development process you will have to make a decision about your target audience’s browser size. We’ve seen all kinds of statistics showing user’s display resolution, but a new study by Thomas Baekdal looks at how much of that space is actually occupied by a browser. Good stuff, even if the data source is somewhat questionable (read: vague).

Web Directions North 2007

October 4, 2006 Leave a comment

Here’s a bit of news I couldn’t wait to pass on! The first annual Web Directions North is coming to my hometown, the beautiful Vancouver, BC.

Web Directions

Put together by designers and developers, for designer and developers, this conference is brought to you by Dave Shea, Derek Featherstone, Maxine Sherrin and John Allsopp.

Over two days and nights, Web Directions North is packed tight with sessions by renowned, inspiring, entertaining speakers and experts, parties and other events.

Beginning with an optional day of workshops from some of the web’s best educators, and rounded off with two optional day’s skiing and boarding and Blackcomb Whistler, Web Directions North is 2007’s web design and development event not to be missed.

Now, I’ve had the privilege of working with Dave on our latest project (VisualWorks + Seaside, of course) and let me tell you one thing, I’m really looking forward to meeting many more talented people like him this coming February.

Calendar and Date Picker Showcase

August 4, 2006 1 comment

Via Smiley Cat comes a compilation of quite a few nice looking calendars and date pickers that are out there on the web. Quite helpful if you’re out searching for one, although I think I’ll stick with YUI version myself as it can be styled with CSS anyway. I should have that ready to go early next week.
